Paper & Clay offers an unforgettable venue for your events that is sure to create lasting memories for your guests. Before you plan your event, read the rental information below, choose the right rental option for your event, and then reserve Paper & Clay through GT Events.
- Groups of twelve or more are required to pre-reserve the space through GT Events.
- If you are unfamiliar with how to find Paper & Clay in GT Events, please use this guide to navigate the reservation process for Paper & Clay.
- Reservations for Paper & Clay can be made up to one year before your event date and no fewer than 3 weeks before your event.
- Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to book well in advance.
- Someone from our team will contact you about your reservation within two business days. After gathering the required details, you will get a confirmation email once your booking is finalized.
- Rentals scheduled outside of Paper & Clay’s normal business hours will incur a $50 per hour staffing fee, which covers up to two staff members.
- Only one type of rental (full facility, ceramics area, or pottery area) can be booked at a time. To book both the ceramics and pottery areas, a full facility rental is required.
- Off-campus clients and Youth Programs must utilize our ‘full facility rental’ option.

Rental Options
Paper and Clay is reservable through GT Events. All groups of twelve (12) or more are required to pre-reserve the space in GT Events. Reservations can be made starting one (1) year from the event date and all reservations are accommodated on a first-come-first-served basis. Event requests are processed during normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm ). Events are not confirmed until you receive a formal event confirmation. Please use this guide to navigate the process of reserving Paper and Clay.
(3-weeks minimum and “Rentals that are approved outside of normal business hours are subject to a $50 per hour staffing fee, which includes up to two staff.”). Only one type of rental (i.e. full facility, ceramics area, or pottery area) may be reserved at the same time. If a client wishes to reserve both the ceramics area and pottery area, a full facility rental will be required.
Full Facility Rental
Reserve the Entire Paper & Clay for a Truly Exclusive Experience! This 2-hour rental includes:
- Private access to the facility
- Staff support
- Options for catering and dedicated event space setup
- Seating for up to 80 people
- Access to an outdoor patio with seating
- Use of audio/video technology
The total rental fee includes the facility cost plus cost of materials, depending on the chosen activity:
- Ceramics: One ceramic item valued between $5-$10 per item
- Pottery: 8 pottery wheels with 1 pound of clay at $3.50 per pound. Pottery instructor available upon request for $50, with a 3-week notice required.
- General Craft: Please inquire with our staff for available options and pricing.
Ceramics Area Rental
This 2-hour rental includes:
- Staff support
- One ceramic item valued between $5-$10 per item (max 48 people)
- Glazes, tools, and firing included
- Reserved seating at up to 4 tables (12 people per table)
A base fee of $25-$35 per table applies to ensure seating. The space is provided as-is and does not allow for special setups or catering for the reservation.
Pottery Area Rental
This 2-hour rental includes:
- Staff support in cutting clay and general tour of pottery area
- 8 pottery wheels
- Base fee plus clay at $3.50 per pound
- Priority firing and email notification when projects are ready for pick-up
The space is provided as-is and does not allow for special setups or catering for the reservation. Use of the pottery wheel camera is available upon request. Instructors ($50 instructor fee) can be requested at least 3 weeks from your event date but are not guaranteed.

Payment Options
Georgia Tech departments and RSOs can pay for their reservation using a Worktag, credit card, or certified check at the end of their event with the attending staff member. Your payment method will be requested when booking Paper & Clay in EMS. If you choose to pay with a Worktag, it must be provided to confirm your reservation. Please note that Paper & Clay cannot accept a Georgia Tech PCard; use a Worktag instead.
External clients are required to make a non-refundable deposit of $150 to secure their reservation. This amount will be applied towards the total. The full facility fee balance must then be paid at least 5 business days before the event. Material fees will be charged and paid at the event’s conclusion. External clients may use a credit card or certified check for payment.
Parking
To accommodate institute visitors, there are parking zones and meters situated across campus for visitors to use. Please note that all visitor parking is first come/first served. Please visit the Visitor’s Parking Website to view more information about locations and hourly rates.
Visitor parking closest to Paper and Clay can be found in the Student Center Parking Deck (W02) at Parkmobile Zone 8631. Please note, guests will share the parking deck with W02 campus permit customers. Prices vary based on the estimated number of vehicles.
