After a national search, the Georgia Institute of Technology has selected Kasey Helton as its new associate vice president for Campus Services. She joins Georgia Tech from Kennesaw State University, where she serves as assistant vice president for Campus Services.
Helton has worked for Kennesaw State University, the third largest university in the University System of Georgia, since 2008 and is responsible for leading customer service-oriented business practices for 11 offices in Campus Services including dining, housing, and parking and transportation among other auxiliary operations. Her work at Kennesaw State University focuses on optimizing operational and organizational effectiveness, increasing program enrollment, managing fiscal sustainability, and helping to ensure customer satisfaction for the entire campus community.
Prior to Kennesaw State University, Helton served in student-centric roles at Southern Polytechnic State University and Georgia Tech where she was an associate program director for the Student Center.
In her new role at Georgia Tech, Helton will provide leadership, oversight, and direction for Campus Services’ diverse portfolio of customer-focused service departments. This role will also be responsible for strategic planning and collaborating with academic, admissions, and student life leaders to develop programming that enhances the educational experience.
“We are very pleased that Kasey will be joining the Administration and Finance team as the new associate vice president for Campus Services,” said Mark Demyanek, interim senior vice president for Administration. “Her years of experience with auxiliary enterprises, particularly within the University System of Georgia, will be a great addition to our portfolio. Kasey demonstrates solid problem-solving skills, integrity, ethical decision-making, and the ability to build collaborative relationships with a laser-focus on maximizing the student experience.”
Helton will start her new role on April 1 and will report directly to the senior vice president of Administration.
“The opportunity to be in an environment that is committed to being innovative and data-driven is very appealing,” Helton said. “In my experience, Georgia Tech has always been a leader by setting the standard for other schools to follow and continuously refining existing processes to better meet the needs of its community. I’m excited to be a part of that and to serve the students, faculty, and staff of Georgia Tech creatively, efficiently, and with transparency.”
JulieAnne Williamson, who has served as interim associate vice president for Campus Services since June 2018, will return to her former position of assistant vice president for Administration and Finance as Helton is onboarded at Georgia Tech.
“On behalf of the Division of Administration and Finance, I cannot say enough about how grateful we are to JulieAnne for her ability to step in seamlessly and help navigate Campus Services through some very challenging times,” said Jim Fortner, interim executive vice president for Administration and Finance. “We are also extraordinarily grateful to have her back in supporting Administration and Finance.”
